Activities to expect

Just a few of the things you can expect to experience when visiting Vista Marlago Eco Estate

Quad Biking | Motorcycles

For the adventurous who like quad bikes and motorcycles the area promises to be a joyful and exciting experience with endless trails to choose from. It is also a great way to explore the soft sand from the dunes in the area as well as the neighbouring villages. Buying fresh fruit, vegetables or traditional pao from the neighbouring villages has never been this fun using your quad bike or motorcycle.

Hiking

This perfect peninsula is nestled between the 36km long clear lagoon on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. The site is protected by trees and dune shrubs. Hiking trails are endless. Put on your shoes and explore the relaxed environment on our eco estate. Many trails lead to beautiful sunsets.

4 x 4 Offroad

The roads are periodically maintained and are easily accessible via 4×4 vehicle. Enjoy a drive on the beach or through the villages nearby. The loose and soft sand guarantee a fun and unique 4×4 experience. Certain landmarks on the eco-estate and a trip to the surrounding areas such as Guinjata bay requires a 4×4 vehicle.

Whale Watching

Certain time of the year whales can be seen wandering the waters for a few weeks at a time. A beautiful and unique experience for the whole family!

Mozambique's cuisine

Fresh lobster and fish “catch of the day” can be requested from the locals, always available all year round. Our own gecko bar and restaurant with beach like seating area will very soon be selling light meals in peak seasons only. There are a few restaurants to visit nearby such as Sol de Ligogo and Oyster Bay. Guinjata bay is about 45minutes drive from Vista Marlago via the village routes.

Snorkeling & Water activities

The area provides for snorkeling and water activity expeditions. Snorkeling areas are easily accessible from the estate and promises to be a great family outing. The fresh water lake can be utilized for many water sport activities – e.g. Jet Ski, Sailing and boating. Boats can be launched for a small fee at the gecko bar entrance. This gives you exclusive use of the gecko bar area, floating jetty and bathroom facilities.

camping

Vista Marlago is an eco-estate – utilising water from the fresh water lake and solar energy for electricity. Camping here brings you so much closer to nature. Camp fires at night under the clear skies. The ablution facilities are neat and cleaned daily for the camper’s convenience.

Fishing

Fishing is currently allowed under permit conditions. Permits must be obtained to avoid a fine. Help and advise can be given to whomever is interested. Our neighboring attraction Guinjata Bay also offers Deep Sea Diving courses and excursions.
